In other Hilton news, the aspiring singer’s recent hop from fiancé Paris Latsis into the arms of another, taller billionaire Greek shipping heir, Stavros Niarchos III, has intrigued modern history buffs. After all, the Latsises and the Niarchoses, along with the Onassises, have been among Greece’s wealthiest, most powerful dynasties since the 1950s. As a result, competition between the clans runs deep.

In fact, one notorious aspect of their rivalry has been a taste for sexual warfare, particularly the patriarchs’ habit of bedding each other’s wives. (See Peter Evans’s Onassis exposé, Nemesis, for all the messy details.) Man-giant Niarchos, who recently scarred the international imagination by dating the doll-size Mary-Kate Olsen, has lately been displaying his affection for Hilton in public—even going so far as to reportedly satisfy his new lover in a porta-potty outside a Hollywood party. Is Niarchos’s swordsmanship the latest salvo in an age-old Greek feud?

We asked renowned Grecian society scholar Taki Theodoracopoulos, who declined to comment on the clans’ history, saying, “Stavros and Paris are just kids. I know the families, but I have nothing to say.” When told of Hilton’s possible move to London, however, the august gossip couldn’t resist a parting aperçu. “They’re opening legal brothels there, so I’m sure she’ll fit right in,” he said.

Glammed-out design team Heatherette got an unwelcome surprise when they arrived south of the border at Benito Juarez International Airport in Mexico City for 7th on Sixth’s official Mexico fashion week on Tuesday.

We hear the louche label’s cutup crew of Traver Rains, Richie Rich, and muse Aimee Phillips were all set to show their 2006 Spring collection to the tequila-swilling crowd at Camino Real that night when they learned that the airline had lost the 51 bags containing their entire collection, along with all their personal luggage. The designers had to postpone the show and instead spent the day with their plasticine pal Amanda Lepore scouring the streets of Mexico City for fabric—and lots of glitter, we imagine—to replace their wares. After hours of fretting, we’re told, the clothes were finally recovered and the show was rescheduled for Thursday night.
