"Hurricane Katrina Blues," an exhibit of the work of 21 members of Artists Equity of Louisiana, many of whom lost houses, studios or supplies in Hurricane Katrina last year, continues at the Pacific Grove Art Center, 568 Lighthouse Ave., Pacific Grove, through Oct. 19. Lauryn Taylor Fine Art. Gala event and silent auction to benefit The Western Stage. Appetizer, wine and silent auction reception at the Sunset Center Theater, San Carlos and Ninth, Carmel. Re-enactors bring World War II battle to Fort Ord. 3-5 p.m. at the CSU-Monterey Bay campus in Seaside. The overgrown roads and deteriorating buildings of the old Fort Ord Army base will be transformed into the Dutch countryside, circa September 1944. Members of the World War II Research and Preservation Society will explain the history of the operation, and then stage a mock battle, wearing authentic uniforms and using period guns modified to fire blank rounds, demonstrating some of the tactics used by Allied and German forces. $10 general/$8 students and military (active and retired)/$5 for ages 12 and under.
