Volunteer child advocates wanted to work independently to investigate and monitor cases of abuse, neglect and/or dependency. Next 30-hour training begins Sept. 6. Minimum age: 21.

Volunteers wanted to help children with various activities, including homework and computers, 5:45-7:45 p.m. Mondays at Akron location and Tuesdays at Northfield location. Minimum age: 15.

Volunteers wanted to provide respite care (8-16 hours/month) and companion visiting (4 hours/month) to patients and families. Training required. Minimum age: 18.

Volunteers wanted to help at the Northeast Ohio Regional Town Meeting on Sept. 16 at the Rhodes Arena, University of Akron. Shifts available 7:30 a.m.-5:30 p.m. Training required. Minimum age: 18.
