People are needed to sew, quilt, knit and crochet clothes for babies in the south-metro area. Bundle of Love holds a clothes-making session on the third Saturday of every month from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Shepherd of the Valley Church, 12650 Johnny Cake Ridge Road. Bring your sewing machine and basic sewing supplies to work on a variety of simple sewing projects. Or you may come as you are to help with ironing, cutting and assembling finished items into bundles or even work from home. For more information, call 763-783-7876.

Caponi Art Park will play host to the Greenway Music Festival on Sept. 10, and volunteers are needed to help with parking, set up the silent auction, assist with ticket sales, greet guests and set up music equipment. For details, contact Barb Mowry at 651-454-9452, visit www.caponiartpark.org or go online to www.volunteermatch.org .

Several northern Dakota County volunteer organizations will take part in a volunteer speed matching event from 2 to 8 p.m. Sept. 19 at Dakota Area Resources and Transportation for Seniors (DARTS). The event, which draws heavily on speed dating, will see volunteers move from table to table in a bid to find their perfect match. If you have been thinking about volunteering, but aren't sure with which organization, then volunteer speed matching may be a way to get started. Organizations taking part will include those that help people who are young and not so young; people with physical and learning disabilities; people who are homeless, victims of crime or experiencing mental distress; and people in hospitals and hospices. Also participating are organizations that deal with environmental issues. DARTS is at 1645 Marthaler Lane. Space is limited, so register early by speedmatching@hotmail.com .
