But Christine said she wasn't having much luck with off-line dating. And it was getting especially hard to meet eligible men since her son and daughter had gotten old enough to play after-school sports.
But Yahoo! proved annoying, she said. While online, she was frequently bombarded with fraudulent messages, purportedly from foreign men who were looking for an American bride.
So Christine switched to Match.com, where that sort of thing doesn't seem to be a problem. She posted glamorous photos of herself and typed up a profile that detailed her interests, her body type and her vision of the ideal partner.
"I'm seeking a fun and adventurous male, who loves trying new things . . . doesn't mind dancing, and can handle the heat when the kitchen gets hot (wink wink)," she wrote. "Players need not apply."
Christine recently decided to narrow her search to a specialized site: christiansingles.com. Her hope, she said, is that the site will help her attract the right kind of man — the kind she wasn't meeting before.
Kennedy, who is married, said she would never have tried online dating for herself. She isn't convinced that it's the best way for her friend to find her match.
